My mother's maiden name, and a family tradition of making beautiful things that last. My abuelo, Juan Valdes, was an architect in Guatemala City and one of the first to build homes designed to withstand earthquakes. His work proved that a home could be both beautiful and built to endure.
Gina, my mom, carried that spirit into our home. She was always fixing, painting and decorating something, and I was right beside her as her assistant. She took on side jobs creating one-of-a-kind paint finishes for neighbors and sewing custom drapes by hand.
I've always been proud of my Latin American heritage. It's why I double-minored in business and Spanish, and studied the language, architecture, art and literature at the University of Salamanca in Spain. From my family, I learned that care, craft and a little ingenuity can bring anything to life. V Creative carries their name forward.
V Creative is a Washington, DC creative studio for the places people love: homes, hotels, restaurants, rentals and the interiors that make them memorable. We bring photography, film, print, social media, consulting and interior styling under one roof, so every piece of a project looks and feels like it belongs together.
Our approach comes from hospitality, where we learned that guests decide how they feel about a place before they ever reach the front desk. Every detail matters, and we ensure the best ones aren't overlooked. We apply that same care to every space we touch.
We're deeply local. With more than twenty years in Northern Virginia and over a decade in the District, we know how the light falls on a Georgetown facade, what a Capitol Hill row home should whisper and what a McLean estate should say out loud.
Meet the Founder
After earning a B.S. in Hospitality Management from James Madison University, I began my career in events and hospitality: a summer concert series at a New England vineyard, large-scale conferences across more than 550,000 square feet at Gaylord National, and marketing content and experiential events at the Omni Shoreham, where nothing could be left to chance. When Covid reshaped the industry, I brought that sensibility to real estate as Marketing & Listing Director for the Conway Group of Compass. Over six years I directed photography, design partners and content for homes across DC and Northern Virginia, supporting more than $125M in sales.
Along the way, I found that my favorite part of the job was the design itself: guiding nearly 100 homeowners through fixture and finish selections, choosing the paint color that makes a room, or styling the shot. I've also partnered with brands like Express, TOMS and 1-800 Contacts to create content for my own DC audience. V Creative is where all of it meets. I'm a recovering perfectionist, which means the details will always be right, and a creative entrepreneur, which means there's always room for the unexpected idea.
A native of the DMV area, I now live in the heart of the District, where I balance my time between the people I love and the next adventure, camera at the ready. With Irish and Guatemalan roots, I'm as passionate about the Spanish language as I am about diversity and equality. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I use creativity and storytelling to advocate for others and to give back wherever I can.
